Fortnite - Baba Yaga location and questline: Mending machine locations explained

Time to try a witch's brew...

The Baba Yaga questline is, like the IO Heist, one of the first punchcard questlines released in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8.

To begin this challenge set, you must first visit Baba Yaga's location and talk to her. You'll eventually find yourself tracking down a mending machine's location, so you can complete one of the quests.

Completing this quest punch card will reward you with a total of 80k XP, which will help you collect more Battle Stars for the Season 8 Battle Pass.

Note this particular challenge is no longer able to be completed. What's new? Chapter 4 Season 2 has arrived! New additions include the Grind Rails and Kinetic Blades, along with the new Battle Pass, character collection and Eren Jaeger skin. It's a good idea to know how to get XP fast in Fortnite.

Baba Yaga questline and location in Fortnite explained

To start Baba Yaga's questline in Fortnite you need to talk to the woman herself in-game. She lives in the hut next to the former IO base located in the far south-westerly corner of the island and near to Sludgy Swamp.

Baba Yaga can be found in and around this wooden building.

Once you've found her, select the exclamation mark when talking to her. With this done, you'll be able to complete her quests and won't lose your progress if you have to leave a match or are eliminated.

Below you can find every challenge, along with how much XP you'll receive, for Baba Yaga' challenges:

  • Mark a Medkit, a Bandage and a Small Shield Potion - 12k XP
  • Use any of the services of a Mending Machine - 14k XP
  • Consume foraged items - 16k XP
  • Restore health with fish - 18k XP
  • Use a Bandage or a Medkit in The Sideways - 20k XP

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 is here! It brings a free Lego Insider skin and redemption codes with it, along with a new Victory Umbrella. We've also got pages on new features like Medallions, Weapon Mods, and how to complete a Train Heist. Mending machine locations in Fortnite explained

Mending machines are a type of vending machine which you can find across the Fortnite map and, as the name suggests, sells items which will allow you to restore your health or shield.

You will need to gather some Gold Bars - we recommend roughly 100 Gold Bars to be safe - before attempting this challenge or you won't be able to purchase anything.

The easiest way to find a mending machine is to visit a petrol station, because every single one has a mending machine on the premises. Once you're there, look for a vending machine with a blue screen and that's your mending machine!

When you're nearby a small icon should also appear on the mini-map to indicate where the mending machine is.

Here are some of the location where you can find a mending machine in Fortnite:

Feel free to visit whichever mending machine you prefer! Though, we recommend the one north of Sludgy Swamp if you've managed to complete the first stage of this questline in one match, because it should be quite close by.

We recommend visiting this mending machine.
