K.K. Slider is the famous canine musician who has appeared in every instalment in the Animal Crossing series.

If you want him to perform concerts on your island in New Horizons, then you must first attract his attention by developing your island. After doing so, K.K. will visit your island once a week to play his music, which will help you complete your K.K. music collection.

K.K. Slider is one of the special visitors who will regularly visit your island once he's been unlocked.

How to unlock K.K. Slider in Animal Crossing: New Horizons explained

K.K. Slider is the white guitar playing dog who has appeared in every game in the Animal Crossing series. You'll have heard his music when playing the various stereos you can find, visiting villager's homes or you might have purchased a couple of his records from the Nook Stop.

Due to his travelling nature, K.K. Slider will only visit your island once a week, but, in New Horizons, you have to make your island worth the visit first.

To do this you need to raise your island's star rating to three-stars to finally convince this special dog to visit.

Once you've achieved this, Isabelle will receive a note from K.K. expressing how he's heard your island is a nice place to visit. Tom Nook will then be able to invite the musical dog to come and play on your island for a concert, which will occur the next day.

Now all you have to do is eagerly await K.K.'s arrival!

K.K. Slider's first concert to your island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons explained

K.K. Slider will make his first visit to your island in New Horizons the day after you achieve a three-star rating.

That long awaited day will begin with Isabelle's announcement and, once she's finished, the concert will begin.

K.K. Slider will play his new song, Welcome Horizons, as you watch the credits roll surrounded by your villagers.

Once the concert is over, you'll be returned to your house where you'll be met by Tom Nook. In thanks for all your hard work, Tom will give you both a copy of Welcome Horizons and the Island Designer app, which will allow you to terraform your island.

How to get K.K. songs in Animal Crossing: New Horizons explained

Once K.K. Slider has visited your island for the first time in New Horizons, he will return every Saturday to play his music in front of Residential Services. If there is an event, like the Fishing Tourney, running on a Saturday, then K.K. will visit on the Friday before instead.

He will only start taking requests from 6pm onwards and, during the rest of the day, will instead play whatever tune he wishes to.

When talking to K.K. Slider past 6pm, you'll be offered three options that relate to which song he might play. These options are:

'I'll leave it up to you!'
'I'm in a mood...'
'Gimme that one song'

Choosing 'I'll leave it up to you!' will allow K.K. to continue jamming to whatever music is currently in his heart.

'I'm in a mood...' will lead you to a second menu, where you can select one of five moods, which are:

'I feel good!'
'A little grumpy...'
'Laid-back.'
'A little blue...'
'It's hard to say...'

K.K. will then play a song that reflects your mood; for example, he played K.K. Disco when we choose 'I feel good!'

Picking 'Gimme that one song' will allow you to input the name of a specific K.K. song and, if spelled, correctly K.K. will play you that song.

There are three songs, such as Animal City, that K.K. will only play if you request them, which means that requesting these songs is the only way to earn these records for your collection.

Once you've made your selection, sit down on one of the wooden chairs surrounding K.K., only to have your character, and any villagers joining you, stand up again to listen to K.K.s music.

If this is your first time listening to K.K. that day, then he will give you a copy of whichever song he played. You can have K.K. play multiple songs, but he will only give you one record per visit.

You can also buy a random K.K. Slider from the Nook Stop each and every day. These singles can be found at the bottom of the Special Goods section of Nook Shopping, with each record being 3,200 Bells.

How to play K.K. Slider's songs in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Once you've brought or been given a K.K. Slider single you can play it on any stereo, be it a tape deck or high-end stereo, in New Horizons.

First, however, you need to register the single in your music system. To do this interact with any stereo you own, this will open your music library.

Next select the option entitled 'Register' to open your inventory. From here you can select all the K.K. songs that you wish to add to your music library. You only have to register a song once to be able to play it from as many stereos as you like.

Select 'Register' and then pick which songs you want to add to your collection.

It should be noted that if you register a song, then you'll lose that copy of the single. This means that if you want to display that particular album in your house, you need to obtain another copy of that single.

You can place stores both in your house and around your island, which means that you might catch a villager singing along to a K.K. song!

New K.K. Slider songs in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

There are four new K.K. Sliders for you to listen to in New Horizons. Except for Welcome Horizons, you must request these songs from K.K. if you wish to listen to them and receive the record for each song.

The four new songs are:
