New Bugs and Fish in April: Everything arriving and leaving this month in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Your last chance to catch a tarantula for six months!

April has come to Animal Crossing: New Horizons bringing bugs, fish and sea creatures with it similar to March and, the next month, May.

If you've been playing New Horizons since its launch last year, then you've mostly likely already caught many of these creatures. If, however, you've missed a couple or have started playing more recently, then this month is an excellent time to go bug hunting, fish or diving.

Catching every bug and fish in New Horizons will let you complete two Museum exhibits and unlock two Golden Tool DIY recipes - the Golden Fishing Rod and the Golden Net.

Below you'll discover exactly which creatures are both arriving and leaving your island in April, as, not so helpfully, the Critterpedia only details a creature's information once you've caught it for the first time.

New Animal Crossing bugs, fish and sea creatures in April

April sees a whole host of bugs and fish, with a couple of sea creatures, return to your island in New Horizons.

If you manage to catch every creature you'll be able to complete both the Museum and the Critterpedia. Completing these feats will also unlock both the Golden Fishing Rod and the Golden Net DIY recipe.

I'm practising my flea catching abilities. I swear...

Animal Crossing bugs, fish and sea creatures leaving in April

The beginning of every month in New Horizons sees a number of bugs, fish and sea creatures leave your island. If you forget to catch one of these creatures or simply can't find them, you'll have to wait till it returns to your shores and this could take a number of months.

We recommend catching the departing creatures at the beginning of the month, so you don't have to rush about your island in the month's final days.
