Fortnite Fortilla whirlpool explained: How to use a whirlpool at The Fortilla

It's time to brave Charybdis!

Using a whirlpool at The Fortilla in Fortnite Season 3 is the first challenge you need to complete to unlock the Aquaman skin.

This Aquaman skin is the special superhero skin that can be earned by completing various challenges in Season 3, similar to how Deadpool was unlocked in the previous season.

Whirlpools, however, are not just useful for unlocking Aquaman; using one can always help you navigate the flooded world of Fortnite and maybe even escape a foe or two.

Note this particular challenge is no longer able to be completed. So what's changed since? Check out the Fortnite Season 6 Battle Pass skins, the new Fortnite map changes and the Victory Umbrella.

The Fortilla location in Fortnite explained

The Fortilla is one of the new locations on Fortnite Season 3's flooded map. It can be found south of Holly Hedges and to the west of Rickety Rig.

The location of The Fortilla.

You'll want to keep your eyes out for a collection of islands, which are connected together with ziplines.

If you're thinking in terms of the old map, then The Fortilla would be just to the west of where Slurpy Swamp once sat.

The new Season is here! Check out the Fortnite Season 6 Battle Pass skins, including Neymar Jr, the new Fortnite map changes and the Victory Umbrella. Recent quests include finding Soccer Character locations, Off-Road Tires, setting structures on fire, raptors, safes and the Hunter's Cloak.

How to use a whirlpool at The Fortilla in Fortnite explained

To use a whirlpool in Fortnite, you must first find a whirlpool and, considering the map is now mostly water, that shouldn't be too hard.

Whirlpools can easily be seen from the air, so the easiest way to complete this challenge is to fly straight over to the location of The Fortilla once you leave the battle bus.

Whirlpools are easy to spot.

Here you can either fly above The Fortilla or have a peaceful float down, always keeping your eyes out for a whirlpool.

Once you've found a whirlpool, make sure you drop down straight into its waves.

Make sure you enter the centre of the whirlpool.

Doing this will shoot you back up into the air, allowing you to open your glider again and complete the first Aquaman challenge.

Use your glider before you hit the ground.

Just remember - you must use a whirlpool in or around The Fortilla for this challenge to be completed.
