Metal Gear Solid 4 has shot to the top of the UK all formats chart, becoming the fastest-selling PS3-exclusive ever; second only to Grand Theft Auto IV.

The Konami blockbuster crept onto shop shelves last Thursday. MGS4 has beaten MGS3's first-week sales by 24,000 units, but MGS2 is still the fastest-selling title in the series by a lead of 14,000 units.

LEGO Indiana Jones proved popular again this week to take two, ahead of genre boss Grand Theft Auto IV at three.

Mario & Sonic are dreaming of Olympic glory at four, followed by a Father's Day surge from Brain Training to jump from 12 to five. It has now occupied a top 10 spot for 74 weeks.

Excellent car outing Race Drive: GRID dropped a few positions to six, hounded by chart-lifer Wii Play at seven and Sports Island at eight.

Civilization Revolution spent its very first week on console shelves at nine, with some actual stock helping Wii Fit leap dexterously back into the chart at 10.

The other fresh entry this week was Don King Presents: Prizefighter for Xbox 360 at 25.

Both Guitar Hero III and Call of Duty 4 spent an unusual week outside of the top 10, at 13 and 14 respectively.

Big sliders this week were Ninja Gaiden II down from six to 15, Mario Kart Wii down from seven to 16, Haze down from 15 to 27, and Rock Band down from 20 to 35.

Those knocked off the bottom include Mass Effect and Age of Conan (at two and three in the PC chart), as well as Boom Blox and Quake Wars.
