Fortnite - Golden Artefact locations: Where to find golden artefacts near The Spire explained

Time to go on a treasure hunt!

Finding the golden artifacts near The Spire is one of the first challenges you can complete in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6.

This challenge sends you on a treasure hunt around the new map location, The Spire, which is fitting considering this season gives you the chance to unlock Lara Croft as a skin.

Completing this challenge will reward you with 24K XP, which will help you unlock the new Battle Pass skins.

The Spire location in Fortnite explained

The Spire can be found in the centre of the Fortnite map where the Zero Point once floated in the past season.

Where to find The Spire in Fortnite.

The land directly below The Spire has now become inhabited and consists of a variety of buildings, which is where you'll find the golden artifacts.

It's important to note, however, The Spire is also home to a new type of powerful NPC characters called The Spire Guardian. These are hostile NPCs and, once they've noticed you, they will begin to hunt you down.

The Spire Guardians have the ability to teleport and use harvesting tools, so, coupling that with their sizable shields and health bars, it's best not to draw their attention. Though they do hold powerful weapons...

Season 8 and The Sideways have arrived in Fortnite. You can now start collecting the Season 8 Battle Pass skins, using the Sideways weapons, partaking in Sideways encounters, investigate the map changes and obtain the new Victory Umbrella! Make a start on the Season 8 questlines, with the IO Heist and finding IO guards and mending locations for Baba Yaga. You can also start collecting colour bottles for Tonna Fish and completing the new character collection.

How to find the golden artifacts near The Spire in Fortnite

All three golden artifacts can be found in one of the buildings located around the base of The Spire in Fortnite. Don't forget to avoid The Spire Guardians unless you're ready for a fight!

The first golden artifact can be found at the building on the north side of The Spire at the bottom of the stairs which led to the top of The Spire.

You'll need to break down the entrance for this building.

You'll have to break down the wood covering the entranceway to this building, but, once you've done so, you'll be able to easily find the golden artifact inside.

The second golden artifact can be found in the middle directly to the west of The Spire.

Go to the second floor of this building.

It's located in one of the corners of the room on the middle floor, so, if you're having trouble finding it, try going either down or up the stairs to ensure you're in the right place.

The third golden artifact is found on the east side of The Spire and is one of the harder to find.

The easiest way to find it is to land on the lowest level of the eastern side of The Spire, head up the small hill and then find the building we're looking at in the picture below. If you find yourself in an open area containing market stalls, then you're in the right place.

Once within this building, you'll want to head to the market stall near the steps at the northern end of this building. Here you'll be able to find the final golden artifact next to a pot.
