Pokémon Go - Galarian Slowpoke evolution: How to get and evolve a Galarian Slowpoke into a Galarian Slowbro explained

The Galar variant of the dopey Pokémon arrives in Pokémon Go.

Galarian Slowpoke and Galarian Slowbro have debuted in Pokémon Go.

These Gen 1 Galarian variants were released during the A Very Slow Discovery event in Pokémon Go, alongside Mega Slowbro - the Mega Evolution for Slowbro.

Galarian Slowking is now available in Pokémon Go, thanks to its release during the 2021 Halloween event.

Below you'll learn how to get and evolve a Galarian Slowpoke into a Galarian Slowbro, because, like a number of the Galarian Pokémon, you need to fulfil a special requirement to unlock this evolution.

How to get a Galarian Slowpoke in Pokémon Go

Before you can consider evolving a Galarian Slowpoke, you first need to catch one in Pokémon Go.

Galarian Slowpoke can now be found by hatching 7km egg alongside it's fellow Galarian Pokémon. It is, however, on Tier 4 of this egg pool, so you may have to earn a good number of 7km egg to find one.

You can earn 7km eggs from opening gifts sent by your friends in Pokémon Go.

How to evolve a Galarian Slowpoke into a Galarian Slowbro in Pokémon Go

Once you've caught a Galarian Slowpoke in Pokémon Go, your next goal will likely be evolving it into a Galarian Slowpoke. Like other Galarian Pokémon, such as Yamask and Farfetch'd, Galarian Slowpoke has a unique evolution requirement.

To evolve a Galarian Slowpoke into a Galarian Slowbro you need to have 50 Slowpoke Candy and catch 30 poison-type Pokémon while Galarian Slowpoke is your Buddy Pokémon.

If you're having trouble finding these poison-type Pokémon, try placing a Mossy Lure at a PokéStop, because this should attract poison-types to your location.

Slowpoke Candy, meanwhile, can be collected by walking 3km with Slowpoke as your Buddy or by using Pinap Berries when catching any form of Slowpoke to double the amount of catch candy you receive.

You can also now evolve Galarian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowking by fulfilling a different evolution requirement.

Everything else we know about Galarian Slowpoke and Galarian Slowbro

Galarian Slowpoke and Galarian Slowbro made their first appearances in the Pokémon universe in the Isle of Armor DLC for Pokémon Sword and Shield. You don't, however, have to own the DLC to catch a Galarian Slowpoke, because a short preview event for the DLC allows you to catch one in Wedgehurst Station.

Like all regional variants, Galarian Slowpoke and Galarain Slowbro have different appearances compared to their Gen 1 counterparts.

Galarian Slowpoke has abandoned its full pink body for a yellow tail tip and head, including worry lines. Galarain Slowbro, meanwhile, differs further from it's Gen 1 design with splodges of purple and a Shellder attached to its right-hand rather than its tail.

The typing for both Galarian Slowpoke and Galarian Slowbro also differs from their original forms, with Galarian Slowpoke being a pure psychic-type Pokémon and Galarian Slowbro being a poison and psychic-type. The change in Galarian Slowbro's typing is said to have been caused by the Shellder bite causing a chemical reaction with the spices inside Slowbro's body.

There is a Galarian Slowking too, which debuted in the Crown Tundra DLC for Pokémon Sword and Shield.

Like the other Galarian variants in the Slowpoke evolution line, it differs in both typing - becoming a poison and water-type Pokémon - and appearance, with the Shellder now swallowing its entire head.

Galarian Slowking was released into Pokémon Go as part of the 2021 Halloween event.

Good luck catching and evolving a Galarian Slowpoke!
