How to get started with the Lost Lament quest in Destiny 2

To get started with the Lost Lament quest, you need to visit Banshee-44 in the Tower.

This quest appeared following the community completion of the Deep Stone Crypt on November 21st, 2020, and may require you to complete the Beyond Light campaign before it appears for you.

Once you have it, your first task is to find three Dead Exo locations. These are dotted throughout Europa, and once found, require scanning to add them to your collectable total.

There are nine in all, so find any of the three mentioned in the article linked in the previous sentence, to continue the quest.

Where to find the Giant Exo location in Destiny 2

The next part of Lost Lament has you locate the Giant Exo hidden in the Exo facility.

If you want a guided tour, the following video shows a complete route to take starting at Cadmus Ridge. (Additional note - in the final area on the way to the Giant Exo are two collectables - one Dead Exo and a Entropic Shard - which can be seen at the 2 minute 30 second and 3 minute mark respectively.)

Otherwise, to find the Giant Exo, track the quest from the destination screen to reveal an on-screen marker for you to follow. It should be fairly straightforward, though in practice there are one or two points where it looks like you must go through a wall which can throw you off the scent.

Start by heading to Bray Exoscience, which is found on the west side of Cadmus Ridge. Once inside, go through the right-most door up the short set of stairs, then take the door on the right.

This will take you to Creation - an area which opened up after the community completion of the Deep Stone Crypt.

Follow the linear route through, so that you drop down a shaft and into a yellow-floored corridor, until the area opens out until a huge factory-type setting, where you must drop down various ledges to a door at the far end.

Head through here, following the linear corridor round, until you reach the Giant Exo.

Once there, talk to them twice in order to continue the quest.

Next, you have to defeat 100 Vex with Swords and defeat 20 Minotaurs, Hydra or Cyclops with Sword final blows, all on Europa.

Your best bets for this are Cadmus Ridge (east side, where there's also a possible Vex public event), Asterion Abyss (throughout) and the Bunker E15 and Perdition Lost Sectors.

Remember you can use a sword with no ammo to defeat enemies and it will still count towards this objective, and for Minotaurs, Hydra or Cyclops, completing Vex Public Events are probably your best bet.

Once done, you then have to complete an Exo Challenge. These are simulation missions which cycle in each week. To start doing one, you need to pick up the Old Secrets, New Challenges quest from Variks, and then head to the marker in Bray Exoscience, and complete the mission.

Note, as with the Lost Lament quest itself, there might be some prerequisites to this - such as completing other objectives from Variks first - before this appears.

Once done, then you have another Vex objective - defeating Vex with finishers, with "powerful" enemies counting for more. Again, you can find Vex all over Europa - such as in Cadmus Ridge and Asterion Abyss - as well as the the Bunker E15 and Perdition Lost Sectors.

How to find the blade pieces in Destiny 2's Lost Lament quest

Once you have taken down enough Vex with finishers, you must head into The Glassway Strike and locate the blade pieces within.

To find the blade pieces, reach the boss of the Strike, and wait for a Transcendent Harpy to spawn. Defeat this, and the blade pieces will be yours.

Now you need to pay Banshee-44 a visit, who will give you the next objective.

The Season of the Deep is here alongside the Into the Depths quest. You can know go fishing too! Don't forget to keep an eye on the Lost Sector and King's Fall challenge rotation schedule!

How to find the abandoned bunker in Destiny 2's Lost Lament quest

Banshee-44 will give you a mysterious objective - exploring an abandoned bunker in Eventide Ruins.

Thankfully, this is simpler than it sounds - as it refers to completing the Bunker E15 Lost Sector. Chances are you know where it is by now - otherwise the following video can help you track down the location:

All you have to do is finish Bunker E15 to reach the final part of The Lament quest.

After you have completed the Lost Sector, then you have one final objective - completing mission Reforging the Past.

This is similar to the final part of the Salvation's Grip quest in that where partway through you'll actually pick up the Exotic in question.

Once that's done, all you then have to do is pay Banshee-44 a final visit back at the Tower. Great work!

Now you're finished, it might be worth tracking down the remaining Dead Exo locations, or any Entropic Shards you've yet to find.
