Destiny 2 Salvation's Grip quest steps: How to complete The Stasis Prototype quest

How to get the Beyond Light grenade launcher.

Destiny 2's Salvation's Grip is an Exotic quest released alongside the Beyond Light expansion in November 2020.

Available once you have completed the Beyond Light campaign, it introduces the first weapon to channel Stasis energy - in order words, the power of the Darkness.

Getting the Salvation's Grip not only grants you a new grenade launcher, but it allows you to destroy Entropic Shards and makes Stasis-oriented quests such as Born in Darkness easier to complete.

How to start the Salvation's Grip quest in Destiny 2

To start The Stasis Prototype, you must have first completed the Beyond Light campaign.

This will open up several end-game questlines, including Born in Darkness, as well as making weekly Europa bounties accessible.

More easily missed is a questline from the Drifter. This is where you will start The Stasis Prototype - so be sure to pay him a visit to get started.

How to complete the The Stasis Prototype quest in Destiny 2

The first step is to Defeat Fallen Captains and Servitors on Europa to collect intel. You need to kill 10 of each, rewarding you with Weapons Intel each time.

These can be found all over Europa. The easiest thing is to play the game normally and complete other end-game activities, such as the Reclaiming Europa questline from Variks, as you will then come across these enemies naturally.

Otherwise exploring Europa Lost Sectors will offer some of these enemy types. Who knows, maybe you'll get some Lost Sector-specific Exotic drops while you are there.

The next step is to Defeat one of Eramis's council members in an Empire Hunt - in other words, complete an Empire Hunt. To unlock these as a standalone activity outside of the campaign, you must complete the Reclaiming Europa questline from Variks first.

After that, you must Eliminate combatants with, or affected by, your Stasis abilities. This part is pretty simple - equip the Stasis sub-class you unlocked towards the end of the campaign, and get ability or Super kills using it.

The Season of the Deep is here alongside the Into the Depths quest. You can know go fishing too! Don't forget to keep an eye on the Lost Sector and King's Fall challenge rotation schedule!

As always, playing other questlines and activities you would usually is probably best way to do this, so you can tick off other things at the same time and save you a grind.

Once done, you then need to Rendezvous with Spider's associate in the Concealed Void Lost Sector. How this works is straightforward; complete the Concealed Void Lost Sector as usual - the location is in the video below if you haven't visited it yet - and as for the Skiff codes, talk to the Fallen which appears behind the locked room after you grab open the boss cache chest.

Now return to Drifter and pick up the Stasis Containment Device, which requires you to complete the Stealing Stasis mission. Along the way, you'll pick up the Salvation's Grip Exotic to keep.

Once done, return to the Drifter one final time to complete the quest. Nicely done! Now, time to find some Entropic Shards...
