UK Charts: Mario & Sonic back in gold

Full Chart-Track Top 40 inside.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games is back in gold position in the UK All Formats Chart.

It surged into the lead for the fourth time in its career thanks to a steroid-like performance from the DS version, which accounted for a massive 93 per cent of the sales.

That spoils the Devil May Cry 4 party as it is pushed down into second, with Turok sticking at three, Call of Duty 4 flexing its sales-muscles at four, and Wii Play lingering like stale sweat at five.

FIFA 08 showed good legs to nip back to six, Brain Training solved its way to seven, and Burnout Paradise stalled to eight.

The Simpsons also managed to clamber back into the limelight at nine, with The Club rounding off the top ten.

New entries were thin on the ground this week, with Game Party for Wii in at 15 and Cooking Mama 2 at 33.

Training games proved popular though, with Maths Training at 11, More Brain Training at 13, and Sight Training at 25. Those adverts must be working.
