The Solstice event marks changes in the Solrock and Lunatone locations, which are two of Pokémon Go's regionally exclusive Pokémon.
Throughout the Solstice event, you can also collect and complete a variety of limited-time field research tasks.
There's also a collection of Pokémon appearing more frequently in the wild for the event's duration, with the ones you find being dependent on which hemisphere you live in.

Solrock and Lunatone locations in Pokémon Go explained
Solrock and Lunatone will be available worldwide throughout the Solstice event in Pokémon Go.
Since they are both regional Pokémon, they can usually only be found in specific parts of the world.
This makes their Pokédex entries rather hard to complete, especially for new players, making this the perfect time to add Solrock and Lunatone to your Pokédex if you're missing them!
Once the event ends, Solrock will appear exclusively in the western hemisphere and Lounatone will only appear in the eastern hemisphere.
The Season of Mythical Wishes has seen Kecleon finally being released in Pokémon Go! The Crackling Voltage event is currently running and it has brought as a new Team Go Rocket quest - Shadowy Skirmishes! The team lineups for Giovanni and the Team Go Rocket Leaders has also changed. Don't forget to partake in the new Go Battle League season. Elsewhere, be sure to use Daily Adventure Incense for the chance of encountering Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos and Galarian Moltres. This incense may also give you encounters with other rare Pokémon in Pokémon Go.
Everything else you need to know about the Solstice event in Pokémon Go
Aside from the chance to catch Solrock and Lunatone, there are a number of Pokémon appearing in raids or more frequently in the wild. While some of these Pokémon, like Snorlax or Spheal, will appear in the wild worldwide, a number of Pokémon will only appear more frequently in either the northern or southern hemisphere.
When it comes to raids, Lunatone, Solrock and Klink will be some of the Pokémon available worldwide. You'll also be able to battle Regigigas in five-star raids till Thursday, 1st July at 10am (local time), which is an excellent opportunity to add this legendary Pokémon to your Pokédex.
If you live in the northern hemisphere, then you'll be able to find Yanma, Chimchar, the Summer Form of Deerling and others more frequently in the wild. You'll also only be able to battle Pokémon like Alolan Marowak, Yanma and Petilil in raids in the northern hemisphere.
Meanwhile, in the southern hemisphere, Snorunt, Snover and Winter Form Deerling will be appearing more frequently in the wild along with a number of others. Lapras, Piloswine and Snorunt are some of the Pokémon which will be appearing in raids exclusively in the southern hemisphere.
The Solstice event also marks the release of the shiny forms for Yanma, Snorunt and Regigigas!
Finally, you can also enjoy a number of bonuses related to your Buddy Pokémon; the walking distance to earn hearts is halved, while your Buddy will also find gifts and PokéBalls more frequently.
Hope you enjoy the Solstice event!
