More XBLA games from id?

DOOM dev thinking about it.

It looks like DOOM might not be the last classic id Software game to make its way onto Xbox Live Arcade, with company CEO Todd Hollenshead saying that the reaction to it "bodes well" for others to follow in its wake.

Speaking to Firing Squad recently, Hollenshead admitted that id is "looking at bringing some of the other games to Xbox Live Arcade" but said "a lot is going to depend on the response to DOOM", which has been "fantastic so far" from what Microsoft's told him.

Although id is probably best known for the likes of DOOM and Quake, the company has a back catalogue rich with games that might be appropriate for conversion to Live Arcade, including the likes of Commander Keen, Wolfenstein 3D, Heretic and Hexen, with DOOM II and Final DOOM also potential releases.

Although obviously we're holding out for Dangerous Dave in the Haunted Mansion.

Hollenshead also suggested that, after the Apple-conference-esque surprise launch of DOOM at X06, the developer would probably remain quiet about anything new until it was almost upon us. Sounds good to us - we like surprises.
