EA: we will still publish Rage

Deal not affected by id acquisition.

EA will remain as the publisher of Rage, despite id Software's new owner ZeniMax boasting the game will be part of its "library of powerhouse franchises".

"EA's agreement with id Software for Rage remains unchanged," EA told GamesIndustry.biz.

Bethesda's parent company ZeniMax announced the acquisition of id Software yesterday afternoon. Franchises Doom, Quake and Wolfenstein were all mentioned alongside Rage.

EA Partners signed Rage - a post-apocalyptic shooting and racing game for PC, PS3 and 360 - last year. Only brief glimpses of Rage have been offered so far.

Eurogamer will jet off to QuakeCon in August to find out more.
