Star Wars Battlefront's territory control based Supremacy mode has been detailed.
The goal of this epic mode is to gain control of five points scattered across the map. Each team begins with two points in their turf and will naturally rumble over the fifth point in the map's center. Once this is determined, the control points need to be claimed in a specific order for each team.
"When you spawn into Supremacy, you don't have to move far to see a lot of friends - and enemies," said lead level designer Dennis Brännvall on the game's official site. "You're thrown into a massive frontline, where your screen is filled with adversaries: infantry, Heroes, Walkers, and starfighters. You can prepare for very heavy and focused Star Wars action."
This will be one of Battlefront's most sprawling game modes with all manner of vehicles, ground troops, Heroes and Villains joining the fray, so don't be surprised to spot X-Wing, TIE fighters, Luke Skywalker, Boba Fett and Darth Vader duking it out in Supremacy mode.
"Using a character like Darth Vader to secure control points is great, as he can take increased damage before going down," Brännvall added. "Luke Skywalker and Boba Fett are great for moving swiftly between attacking and defensive positions, and giving you the edge against opponents in battle."
To account for all the content in Supremacy mode, it will be played across the game's largest maps.
The developer noted that while Supremacy sounds similar to the Battlefield series' Conquest mode, this new one features tweaks to encourage greater teamwork among players. "You will always spawn close to the action when you enter Supremacy, so you'll never feel isolated from the fight," Brännvall said. "By focusing on one key point at a time, players not playing the objective and camping on a hill somewhere will be a rare sight."
Star Wars Battlefront is due 19th November in the UK on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
