Resident Evil Revelations 2 is coming to Vita this summer

Adds gyroscopic aiming.

Resident Evil Revelations 2's Vita version has been MIA, but Sony recently confirmed that it's still in development and scheduled for a summer release.

"We now have all the code to complete the porting of the project over to the PS Vita platform," said SCEA's Gio Corsi on the PlayStation Blog.

The Vita version will be a digital-only release, unlike the console versions that also saw retail releases. That being the case, Sony noted that it will include all DLC for the game (sans consumables) thus far.

Unfortunately, its launch likely won't include online or ad-hoc co-op for Raid Mode. Corsi noted that these "will most likely come post-launch via an update. This is so we can get the full game into your hands that much sooner."

There is one major benefit to playing on the Vita, however: gyroscopic aiming! I don't know about you, but I found this to be the most enjoyable method for aiming on the first Revelations' original 3DS release.

Eurogamer contributor Rich Stanton was rather impressed with Resident Evil Revelations 2. "The quality of the first Revelations was an achievement in itself, given how mediocre Resi spinoffs had been until that point," he wrote in his glowing Revelations 2 review. "Revelations 2 is a more ambitious and original production, comfortable with moving further away from the main series and through this gaining a distinct identity. This is a Resident Evil game, but it also feels like its own game."
