The Pokémon Home Event research quest is a timed research quest that is only available during the Pokémon Home event in Pokémon Go.

This event celebrates Pokémon Go finally becoming fully integrated with Pokémon Home and also includes a range of field research tasks for you to complete.

You can also enjoy a range of additional bonuses, from certain Pokémon appearing more regularly in the wild to the limited return of shiny Meltan during the event.

It's also important to remember that the Pokémon Home Event will only be available during the Pokémon Home event itself, so, if you want to earn all of it's rewards, you need to complete it before the event ends.

'Pokémon Home Event' Step 1 of 4

  • Transfer 5 Pokémon - x10 PokéBalls

Field research tasks and everything else you need to know about the Pokémon Home event in Pokémon Go

During the Pokémon Home event in Pokémon Go, you'll be able to collect a number of field research quests exclusive to this event. Like all event research tasks, you'll be able to complete a number of these tasks after the event ends, as long as the tasks are saved in your selection of field research tasks.

Here are the field research tasks exclusive to the Pokémon Home event in Pokémon Go:

  • Catch 2 different species of Pokémon reward - Nidoran ♀ or Nidoran ♂ encounter
  • Give your Buddy 3 treats reward - Slowpoke encounter
  • Win 2 Raids reward - Dratini encounter
  • Catch 30 Pokémon reward - 1,500 Stardust

There's also a host of bonuses that you can take advantage of during this event, including the release of shiny Slowpoke and the return of shiny Meltan, which, unlike shiny Slowpoke, will only be available during the event.

Throughout the Pokémon Home event, a number of Pokémon will be appearing more regularly in raids. This includes the legendary members of the Swords of Justice - Cobalion, Terrakion and Virizion.

You can battle Cobalion, Terrakion and Virizion during the Pokémon Home event.

The non-legendary Pokémon you'll find in raids include Alolan Vulpix, Slowpoke, Magnemite, Shinx, Timburr and Klink, among others.

Certain Pokémon will also appear more frequently in the wild. These Pokémon are:

  • Alolan Diglett
  • Slowpoke
  • Magnemite
  • Ditto
  • Porygon
  • Hoothoot

Eggs don't want to be left out of the Pokémon Home event either, so Nidoran ♀, Nidoran ♂, Slowpoke, Omanyte, Kabuto, Lileep and Anorith will all be hatching from 5km, making this event a great time to add some new fossil Pokémon to your team.

Finally, a range of new Melmetal clothing, along with Grand Oak's Glasses, will be available in the Style Shop from the Pokémon Home event onwards.


The Max Out Season is here and includes a new global event, Wild Area. The Harvest Festival event has returned! You can now catch Dynamax Pokémon through Max Battles. First, however, you need to visit Power Spots to collect Max Particles and complete the To the Max! quest. Don't forget to try out Routes, Gift Exchange and Party Play while you're hunting down rare Pokémon, fighting in the Go Battle League or competing in PokéStop Showcases.


'Pokémon Home Event' dates and times in Pokémon Go explained

The Pokémon Home event in Pokémon Go is a celebration of the game's integration with Pokémon Home, which will finally allow you to transfer the Pokémon you catch in Pokémon Go to either Pokémon Sword or Shield.

The Pokémon Home Event research quest is only available during this event, which runs from Tuesday, 17th November to Monday, 23rd November, ending at 10pm local time.

The Pokémon Home Event research quest consists of four quest steps, with each one rewarding you for every individual challenge and overall step you complete. Since, like most event research quests, it's a timed research quest, you must ensure that you complete Pokémon Home Event before the event ends or less you won't be able to collect all of the Mega Energy that it offers.

Aside from the timed research quest, the Pokémon Home event has a variety of bonuses for you to enjoy, including the limited return of shiny Meltan, so make sure your Mystery Box is ready to go.
