Mortal Kombat 11's latest confirmed fighter is Jade

As Mortal Kombat 11 gears up for its April 23rd launch on Xbox One, PS4, and PC, developer NetherRealm is becoming progressively less coy about the game's full fighter roster. And we can now add another familiar face to the list, with classic character Jade confirmed to return.
Jade made her series debut in 1993's Mortal Kombat 2, as a secret character that players could confront by solving a sequence of clues. She was finally added to the playable fighting roster for the first time in 1995's Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, and even got a proper bit of backstory, cast as one of the Outworld emperor Shao Kahn's deadly assassins.
Despite being a bit of a fan favourite, Jade was last seen in 2011's Mortal Kombat reboot, so a return is well overdue. And for Mortal Kombat 11, she's back in a big way, albeit now resurrected from the dead as a servant of the Netherrealm. Regardless of those shifting allegiances, her trademark bo staff and razorrang return (as do her withering put-downs), and you can see her revitalised move set in the reveal trailer below. It looks like eyeball-popping finishers are a theme for Mortal Kombat 11.
Jade's unveiling follows on from last week's news that swordsman Kabal and the insectoid D'Vorah would be making a return, and all three join other familiar faces including Skarlet, Baraka, Scorpion, Raiden, Sub-Zero, and Sonya Blade. Mortal Kombat 11 also finds time for a few new fighters, such as Geras, who can control time.
Mortal Kombat 11 releases on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on April 23rd, and arrives on Switch in May. A closed beta is scheduled for March 28th on PS4 and Xbox One.
