NetherRealm has revealed that Mortal Kombat's demonic ninja Noob Saibot will be returning for the series' imminent eleventh instalment - and that, of course, means a gore-drenched new introductory trailer.

Kotal Kahn, while not as famous as Mortal Kombat's big bad guy Shao Kahn, has his fans - he's the current Emperor of Outworld after all - and for his Mortal Kombat 11 incarnation he's got a few cool twists, too.
If you're into Mortal Kombat, you'll know about Cassie Cage.
NetherRealm has dropped a story trailer for Mortal Kombat 11, and it reveals a raft of returning characters in the process.
The video, below, shows playable characters Cassie Cage, Jacqui Briggs and Erron Black, as well as other characters from across the series we hadn't seen in Mortal Kombat 11 so far.
The story revolves around new antagonist Kronika and time travel, and sees past and present versions of characters team up and fight against each other. This enables cool set-ups such as Johnny Cage fighting alongside a younger version of himself - and all the banter that comes with it. Interestingly, Shao Kahn is a part of the story, which is cool, but makes the fact he's a pre-order bonus a bit icky.
NetherRealm has revealed Johnny Cage for Mortal Kombat 11.
As Mortal Kombat 11 gears up for its April 23rd launch on Xbox One, PS4, and PC, developer NetherRealm is becoming progressively less coy about the game's full fighter roster. And we can now add another familiar face to the list, with classic character Jade confirmed to return.
Jade made her series debut in 1993's Mortal Kombat 2, as a secret character that players could confront by solving a sequence of clues. She was finally added to the playable fighting roster for the first time in 1995's Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, and even got a proper bit of backstory, cast as one of the Outworld emperor Shao Kahn's deadly assassins.
Despite being a bit of a fan favourite, Jade was last seen in 2011's Mortal Kombat reboot, so a return is well overdue. And for Mortal Kombat 11, she's back in a big way, albeit now resurrected from the dead as a servant of the Netherrealm. Regardless of those shifting allegiances, her trademark bo staff and razorrang return (as do her withering put-downs), and you can see her revitalised move set in the reveal trailer below. It looks like eyeball-popping finishers are a theme for Mortal Kombat 11.
Mortal Kombat fans hoping to see a few more old faces when the gruesome fighting series' eleventh instalment launches later this year are in luck: developer NetherRealm has revealed that masked swordsman Kabal and the insectoid D'Vorah are making a return.
Terry Crews as Jax? The Rock as Shao Khan? Gal Gadot as Kitana? It's fun to imagine Hollywood stars as Mortal Kombat characters. Well, one artist has put pencil to paper and gone one step further.
This week, developer NetherRealm revealed Mortal Kombat 11 with a decent chunk of gameplay and a raft of new details.
NetherRealm has unveiled the first gore-drenched gameplay footage of its upcoming fighter Mortal Kombat 11, which launches on Xbox One, PS4, Switch, and PC later this year.
Mortal Kombat 11's first proper airing occurred during a relatively brisk reveal event, held in Los Angeles and livestreamed across the internet earlier today. Alongside a whole bunch of typically gruesome gameplay (which has now been released as a separate video, below), it offered glimpses at a handful of new features for the long-running fighting series, plus several other miscellaneous unveilings.
Much of the event's run-time was spent shining a light on Mortal Kombat 11's character roster. Joining the iconic likes of Scorpion, Raiden, Sub-Zero, and Sonya Blade (who, it was announced, will be voiced by WWE fighter Ronda Rousey), are new faces - including time-controlling Geras - and a few fan-favourites that haven't been seen in a while. Mortal Kombat 2's flesh-munching Baraka is back, for instance, as is Mortal Kombat 9's blood-manipulating Skarlet.
