Lich King midnight launch details

Oxford Street in UK, events worldwide.

Blizzard has announced details of midnight openings for the launch of World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King on 13th November.

The UK event takes place at HMV on Oxford Street in London, where COO Paul Sams and associate producer Lee Sparks will be signing copies and meeting fans.

That's at midnight on the crossover between 12th and 13th November, remember. We wouldn't want you turning up 24 hours late. Everyone will be level 80 by then.

There will also be events around the world in North America, Taipei and Seoul, with full details available on WOW-Europe.

Should you be heading down, you will of course have the option of buying the standard edition or the buffed-up Collector's Edition, which contains an artbook, an exclusive in-game frost wyrm pet, a behind-the-scenes DVD, the official 21-tune soundtrack, an exclusive mouse pad emblazoned with a map of Northrend, and two WOW Trading Card Game starter decks with a pair of exclusive cards.

"We've been looking forward to these launch events all year," said Mike Morhaime, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment.

"This is one of the few opportunities we get to meet with players in person, and we can't wait to celebrate the release of Wrath of the Lich King with them."

Blizzard announced this week that World of Warcraft has hit 11 million subscriptions, which is roughly the same as the population of Greater London, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Leeds and various other cities (we've lost interest) combined.
