Forza Horizon 5 seasons: How to change season in Forza Horizon 5 explained

Whether you experience a hot, wet, storm or dry season depends on when you are playing.

Forza Horizon 5 seasons help make Mexico as dynamic as it is in the real world.

Returning from Forza Horizon 4, seasons once again change weekly so different weather sweeps across the map - but now changes biomes in unique ways.

As well as a changing climate, seasons also impact the types of challenges you can find. And, though there is no battle pass, there will be activities to complete and rewards to unlock as the seasons roll through each in-game series.

Forza Horizon 5 seasons: What are seasons in Forza Horizon 5?

Each week, Forza Horizon 5 will change seasons between spring, summer, autumn and winter, bringing with it a new climate.

Forza Horizon 5 seasons are as follows:

  • Spring: Hot Season
  • Summer: Wet Season
  • Autumn: Storm Season
  • Winter: Dry Season

Something to note is that, unlike Forza Horizon 4, the weather changes will not be uniform. While winter there saw the entire of the UK blanketed in snow, you might only see that on the mountains here - as other biomes will be less affected.

Dust storms can cover certain biomes during some seasons.

Not only do they change the in-game weather - and introduce the likes of dust storms and tropical rain in certain biomes depending on the time of year - but seasons also offer unique seasonal racing championships and seasonal PR stunts (speed zones, speed traps and the like), plus other timed challenges like the weekly Forzathon, all as part of the latest Festival Playlist season.

Seasons will begin once you have completed your first Horizon Adventure - coming into play once you have selected your first Horizon Adventure Apex, Wilds or Baja choice - and you can see the current season from the Festival Playlist screen (which appears when you first load up the game, or by checking the Campaign area of the menu).

Complicating things further, Forza Horizon 5 also offers different 'Series' - think of them as what other live service games would call a 'Season' - which will take place over four weeks and as such, each of the four seasons, each with their own challenges and rewards.
