World Tourism Day research task rewards explained in Pokémon Go

The various rewards for the latest set of Research Tasks.

World Tourism Day Global research tasks are a time limited series of quests available in Pokémon Go to coincide with, you guessed it, World Tourism Day, which has seen the release of regionals in Eggs and the arrival of Mime Jr.

These tasks are available at PokéStops, replacing some of the current roster of monthly Research Tasks currently available.

World Tourism Day Global research task rewards explained in Pokémon Go

The World Tourism Day Global tasks are live in Pokémon Go from September 26th until October 1st, 9am BST / 1am PST, although tasks can be completed and rewards can be claimed at any point after that if you've picked up the task before the event ends and keep hold of it.

World Tourism Day Global research tasks list:

  • Make a new friend reward - Nosepass
  • Trade Pokémon caught 10,000km apart reward - Zangoose (for North America, South America and Africa), Seviper (for Europe, Asia and Australasia)
  • Send 25 Gifts reward - Lapras

Thanks to drfsupercenter on reddit for fleshing out the above.

The Season of Hidden Gems has arrived, bringing with it a new Go Battle League season. The Water Festival: Beach Week event is currently running and has brought Sandygast and Palossand to Pokémon Go! You can also purchase the Water Festival: Beach Week Timed Research quest. Depending on your region, you can currently battle Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf in five-star raids. Elsewhere, be sure to compete in Shadow Raids, use Daily Adventure Incense for the chance of encountering Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos and Galarian Moltres. This incense may also give you encounters with other rare Pokémon in Pokémon Go.

What else do you need to know about World Tourism Day research task rewards?

First of all, this is a great opportunity to get a new regional if you haven't already. The way the 'Trade Pokémon caught 10,000km apart' works is you get either Zangoose or Seviper not in your current region, so it's worth meeting up with someone who has caught a creature found originally over 10,000km away to get it.

Second, all the above Pokémon except Nosepass have the potential to be Shiny, for those tracking them down for their collection.
