Warzone best PPSh-41 loadout: Our PPSh-41 class setup recommendation and how to unlock the PPSh-41 explained

Pew pew.

Build the perfect Black Ops: Cold War and Warzone PPSh-41 loadout with our class set up recommendation.

The PPSh-41 in Warzone, like other submachine guns, is a perfect way to make your way through firefights in short and powerful bursts.

Arriving to the roster on April 22nd, 2021 alongside the Swiss K31, the PPSh-41 first debuted in Warzone and Black Ops: Cold War at the start of Season 3 - and requires to reach a specific battle pass level to unlock.

This weapon packs a punch thanks to its low time to kill in short to mid distances, daunting fire rate, and overall lightweight nature.

As you travel back in time to 1984, this page will cover how to unlock the PPSh-41, and our the best PPSh-41 loadout and PPSh-41 class recommendations once you have it.

How to unlock the PPSh-41 in Warzone

Debuting at the start of Season 3, it used to be that you'd need to reach level 15 of the Battle Pass to unlock the weapon. But this changed with the arrival of Season 4.

Now, in order to unlock the PPSh-41, you'll have to get 3 kills immediately after sprinting in 15 different completed matches - using SMGs, of course.

This isn't a complex challenge by any means. Luckily, SMGs are great for hip fire and usually carry a decent aim down sight speed. Alongside their fast fire rate, it's likely you'll gun down three enemies in no time.

The problem is that it's rather time consuming - 15 matches is a big number. For this, we recommend pursuing Team Deathmatch playlists and modes such as Nuketown 24/7 in Black Ops Cold War, which tend to be on the shorter side of things.

As per usual, if you're opting to do this challenge in Warzone, we recommend Plunder mode so you can revive throughout the match.

Once you've completed the challenge, the game will let you know of your new weapon in the rewards page after the match. From there, just head to the loadout tab and equip the weapon in the primary slot.

Best Warzone PPSh-41 loadout and attachments

As a submachine gun, you can expect the usual plethora of available attachments for the PPSh-41. This is certainly welcome considering some of the weapon's weakest aspects, from the recoil to the rather short range.

Below are our recommendations for an optimal PPSh-41 loadout, as well as the corresponding levels for each:

  • Muzzle: Sound Suppressor (unlocked at level 20)
  • Barrel: 15.7” Task Force (unlocked at level 48)
  • Stock: Raider Stock (unlocked at level 54)
  • Ammunition: 55 Rnd Drum (unlocked at level 8)
  • Rear Grip: Spetsnaz Grip (unlocked at level 41)

While the GRU Suppressor used to be our top choice, we've been leaning towards the Sound Suppressor after the mid-season updates during Season 3 Reloaded. It provides the PPSh-41 with increased aim down sight and sprint to fire speed, as well as a buff to bullet velocity and the usual sound suppression. Your range will be hit slightly, but we are compensating this with the next attachment.

Next is the barrel, for which we went for the 15.7” Task Force. You will lose vertical and horizontal recoil control but gain even more bullet velocity, alongside strafe speed and the aforementioned effective damage range.

We know the Raider Stock carries a hefty level requirement, but there's a good reason for it. The PPSh-41 greatly benefits from the aim down sight, and the more we can strengthen this up, the better. This attachment improves your speed while using ADS, as well as your overall aim walking movement speed and sprint to fire time. Your hip fire accuracy is slightly hit by this, but all in all, it shouldn't make that much of a difference.

A submachine gun is always best paired with the biggest ammo magazine possible, and that's where the 55 Rnd Drum comes in. The increased ammo capacity comes with a caveat, and it's a hit on reload quickness. But you end up compensating this by having far more chances to take down your enemy before you even have to start thinking about reloading.

Lastly, the Spetsnaz Grip is perfect to mitigate decrease to horizontal and vertical recoil control. It will counter your speed while using ADS and general firing move speed, but that's what the Raider Stock is there for.

Best Warzone PPSh-41 class setup, perks and equipment

While the PPSh-41 is a fun and interesting weapon to use, it's still a submachine gun, so the class setup is in range to what you would expect from this category.

Here's our choices for the best items - such as equipment and Perks - to make the best PPSh-41 class setup in Warzone:

  • Perk 1: Quick Fix (Unlocks at level 42)
  • Perk 2: Overkill (Unlocks at level 38)
  • Perk 3: Amped (Unlocks at level 1)
  • Secondary: ZRG 20mm (Unlocks by obtaining 2 Longshot medals across 10 different matches using Sniper Rifles)
  • Tactical: Stun Grenade (Unlocks at level 1)
  • Lethal: Frag Grenade (Unlocks at level 1)

Given that it doesn't take long for the PPSh-41 to take down an enemy, starting health regeneration immediately after with Quick Fix makes for a great combo. If you're unsure about what to use if you haven't reached level 41, E.O.D. will help to mitigate damage from non-killstreak explosives and fire until then.

As per usual we recommend opting for Overkill as the second perk. On this occasion we chose the ZRG 20mm sniper rifle for it to compensate the short to mid range nature of the submachine gun.

Of course, there's a chance that you might be spotted during sniping or fail to deal a lethal shot, requiring you to either guard yourself up in position or sprint towards the enemy. Switching to the PPSh-41 quickly is key, and Amped will make sure the action is as fast as possible.

Lastly, we went for rather traditional choices for both the Tactical and Lethal equipment with the Frag and Stun grenades. As we have mentioned, the submachine isn't that powerful in long distances, so throwing explosives or stunning enemies before you storm in with an attack is a strategy you should consider.
