'The Seasons Change' dates and times in Pokémon Go explained

The Seasons Change is a special timed research questline running as part of the Autumn event in Pokémon Go.

It's important to note that while the Autumn event is running between Friday, 9th October and Monday, 12th October, the timed research questline, The Seasons Change will end on Tuesday, 20th October.

Since The Seasons Change is a timed research questline, you must complete it before Tuesday, 20th October, because, if you don't, you'll never be able to collect all of the rewards.

The Seasons Change consists of four quest steps, with you being rewarded for every challenge and overall steps that you complete. The shortness of this quest stems from how it's a timed research challenge, so, unlike non-timed research quests like A Mega Discovery, it's designed to be completed in a short time period.

Remember - you must complete The Season Changes before Tuesday, 20th October!

New to the game is a long overdue Mega Evolution update, which has arrived alongside the A Mega Moment research. May 2022 in Pokémon Go includes the Water Festival, which celebrates the release of Dewpider and Araquanid. Tapu Fini has also been released alongside A Poni Adventure - the last Alola region-themed special research quest. Currently both the Ultra League and Element Cup are running in the Go Battle League. Elsewhere, we've recently seen the release of more Gen 7 Pokémon as part of the Season of Alola. The first details surrounding Go Fest 2022 have also been announced, including the event date.

Everything else you need to know about the Autumn event in Pokémon Go

Aside from the Timed Research quest, there's a selection of bonuses you can take advantage of throughout the Autumn event in Pokémon Go.

Firstly, the Gen 5 Pokémon Deerling and Sawsbuck are being released during the Autumn event.

These deer-inspired Pokémon are made unique in the Pokémon universe by how their appearance depends on which season they are catch in. This means that there are four variants for both Deerling and Sawsbuck.

Sawsbuck has a different appearance depending on which season it's original Deerling form was caught in.

While hunting for a Deerling, there's range of berry bonuses that will be active throughout the Autumn event.

There's a higher chance of you receiving berries from spinning the Photo Discs at PokéStops and Gyms during the Autumn event. The berries you feed to your Buddy Pokémon will also be twice as effective and the catch candy you receive from Pinap Berries will be doubled.

You'll also have a higher chance of encountering Autumn themed Pokémon throughout this event - both in the wild and from 5km eggs.

The Pokémon appearing frequently in wild are:

  • Oddish
  • Vulpix
  • Bayleef
  • Hoothoot
  • Sudowoodo
  • Yanma
  • Pineco
  • Zigzagoon
  • Seedot
  • Shroomish
  • Plant Cloak Burmy
  • Foongus
Vulpix, Bayleef and Hoothoot are some of the Pokémon that will appear more frequently in the wild during the Autumn event.

Finally, this event marks the release of the shiny form for Kanto Vulpix and Ninetails, so keep your eyes for these fire-type Pokémon.

Good luck with the Autumn event in Pokémon Go!
