Free Rift for Oculus dev kit Kickstarter backers

Cheers!

Did you pledge to the Oculus Rift Kickstarter? If you gave the project enough money ($300) to secure a development kit, you get a free Rift.

See you in the rift!

Oculus announced today that all Kickstarter backers who pledged for a Rift development kit get a free Kickstarter Edition Oculus Rift. It comes with a bundled copy of Lucky's Tale and EVE: Valkyrie.

It's a thank you from Oculus, inventor Palmer Luckey said in a new video, below.

Pre-orders for the consumer version of Oculus Rift open tomorrow. We still don't know how much it'll cost, or when it will be released, exactly (at some point early this year).

To get your free Rift, you have to fill out a survey you'll get from Kickstarter before 1st February and provide a shipping address that's in one of the 20 countries the virtual reality headset will launch in.
