The new Gears of War trailer available to Xbox Live Gold customers this week may be a sign of things to come, according to Xbox Live director of programming Larry Hryb - one of Microsoft's more visible next-gen bloggers.

Speaking on his blog, in answer to questions about the trailer's exclusivity to the Gold service - for which Xbox 360 owners must pay a subscription fee - Hryb says, "This is going to happen more and more (Gold getting things before Silver) so you may want to think about upgrading if you want all the latest and greatest trailers, demos etc."

However, the good news (to some extent) is that he also says the trailer, which has been creating quite a buzz for the already extremely buzzy game, will be made available to Xbox Live Silver users - who don't pay a subscription fee - "probably in about a week".
