With a 25 square kilometre play area apparently.

Our bestest buddies at Atari are planning to distribute a new PC first-person shooter in Europe next March. Called Boiling Point: Road To Hell, it's already been compared to Far Cry in some quarters, and apparently comprises some 25 square kilometres of game environment.

Not that that means much on its own, but apparently the game - previously codenamed "Xenus" by Ukranian developer Deep Shadows - will let you tackle missions in any way you like, whether it's stealth, all guns blazing or what-have-you, as you take on the role of a guerrilla warrior in South America on the trail of his daughter.

Atari is promising that Boiling Point "will push the boundaries of what people think first-person action games can do, with its unbelievable scale of the game world and the ability to choose your own path," and that the game's hundreds of missions will lead to "an original experience every time the game is played".

Well, we'll see. And hopefully by the time it comes out we'll all be bored of Half-Life 2 and Halo 2, eh?
