Kojima to appear in London

Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima will make an appearance at HMV on London's Oxford Street next Wednesday to sign copies of MGS3.

Hideo Kojima will make an appearance at HMV in Oxford Street, London next Wednesday to sign copies of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, which is finally released in Europe this coming Friday.

Kojima-san will be signing copies in the first floor games section of the store between 5pm and 6pm for anybody purchasing the game on that day.

MGS3, which benefits from several new features over and above what was included in the American and Japanese releases late last year, is a game that should require no introduction for anybody who deliberately clicked on this item.

For the benefit of those of you hoping to get copies of Boktai signed instead, or something, MGS3 is a prequel to the first two Metal Gear Solid games, set during the Cold War as the player journeys into a Russian jungle to try and rescue a defector from captivity.

As well as spiralling into a hugely engaging James Bond esque story of spying, love, betrayal and attempted world domination, it also deals with the origins of the various characters that you may recognise from MGS1 and 2.

And it has a bonus mode where you chase down monkeys from Ape Escape, too.

You can read a much more in-depth take on it in our exhaustive review of the US version, which, you'll be pleased to hear, is as light on spoilers as humanly possible.

Oh, and we'll let you know if Kojima-san agrees to sign our various bits of memorabilia...
