Lego Dimensions' Supergirl will be exclusive to PS4

And requires buying the spendy Starter Pack.

Earlier this year it was leaked that fan-favourite DC character Supergirl would be coming to Lego Dimensions. But now there's a hitch: she'll be exclusive to the game's PS4 edition.

Equally bothersome, you'll only be able to acquire her by buying the game's next Starter Pack due in September - which will no doubt be rather expensive as it contains the core game, toy pad, and three basic figurines to get you started.

In short, if you already own the game you'll have to buy it again should you want to play as Kara Zor-El.

Supergirl's in-game avatar will contain super strength, invulnerability, heat vision, and a red power ring that will do... something cool that we don't yet know about.

We rather liked Lego Dimensions upon its release last October. Eurogamer contributor Dan Whitehead praised the toys-to-life game, though he criticised its money-grubbing business model.

"There's so much to love in this game, and there are so many moments of crossover lunacy that left me grinning from ear to ear," he wrote in his Lego Dimensions review. "Yet even when supplied with a stack of additional characters and vehicles I still couldn't see everything in the game, and that's a real concern. The game itself is so enjoyable that it feels churlish not to recommend it, but parents should be aware that the recommendation comes with a serious caveat when it comes to the potential long-term cost."
