How to get Goomy, Spritzee and Swirlix in the latest Pokémon Go event

Where to find the new Gen 6 Pokémon during the Luminous Legends X event.

Goomy, Spritzee and Swirlix are a trio of new creatures making their debut in May 2021's Luminous Legends X - the current in-game event for Pokémon Go.

Each of these has at least one evolution to discover, too - some of which requiring special circumstances to uncover - all of which will help flesh out your Gen 6 Pokédex.

As well as this, there is a new Legendary to catch - Xerneas - which can be caught exclusively in Raids at launch.

How to get Goomy and evolutions Sliggoo and Goodra in the latest Pokémon Go event

Goomy, described as the "weakest dragon Pokémon", is the first of a three-long evolution line, and makes its debut in May 2021.

You can find Goomy during the Luminous Legends X event by:

  • Finding them in the wild (uncommon)

With only one method in finding them, Goomy is the most difficult of the Gen 6 creatures introduced as part of the event to catch. Though developer Niantic says spawns will only appear if you are "extremely lucky", early reports suggest it's a little more available than suggested.

Once you have Goomy, there are then two evolutions - Sliggoo and Goodra. Evolving Goomy into Sliggoo requires 25 Goomy candy and you'll then need an additional 100 Goomy Candy to evolve it into a Goodra; along with the extra condition of being in the proximity of a Rainy Lure or having the in-game weather be rain.

  • Completing the field research task - 'Use 7 Berries to help catch Pokémon' (reward can also be Swirlix)
  • Completing the 'Catch 20 Fairy-type Pokémon' step in the fifth stage of the Luminous Legends X timed research quest

In short, there are plenty of ways to catch a Spritzee. The easiest is to engage with the Research quest and pick up as many specific research tasks along the way.

Once you have Spritzee, there is then a single evolution - Aromatisse - which you can unlock by having Spritzee as your Buddy and then using an Incense. Not forgetting the required 50 Spritzee candy!
