Galactus descends upon Fortnite on 1st December, Epic has announced.
The Marvel supervillain arrives in the battle royale as part of the one-time only Nexus War finale event on Tuesday, 1st December at 4pm ET - that's 9pm UK time.
Epic suggested players log into Fortnite at least an hour before the start of the event to ensure they get in to see it. The event playlist is expected to go live half an hour before the start time.
Galactus' arrival signals the end of Chapter 2 Season 4. So, what can players expect? Fans expect Galactus to destroy the current map and trigger some downtime, similar to last year's black hole event. And then Season 5 is set to kick off afterwards, with a significantly changed map.
Will Fortnite's love-in with Marvel ever end? In October, Fortnite boss Donald Mustard discussed his plans for the next few years of the game's story, which will continue to fold in elements from the Marvel universe.
"The reason we called this season Nexus War is that this is just the start of lots of stuff we have planned for many years of Marvel integration," Mustard said on the official This Week in Marvel podcast.
"This is not the end, this is the beginning. We thought a really good POV-style character which could set this up [earlier this year] was Deadpool, kind of fourth-wall breaking. And then Cap in July, building up to this moment..."
According to Mustard, last year's black hole event sparked Galactus' arrival.
"We had this moment in Fortnite which happened around a year ago where... the Zero Point reorganised all the matter around the island and kind of created this new island," Mustard continued.
"That's the moment that attracted Galactus. [He] felt this re-organising of reality and was like 'huh, there's this energy source at the centre of everything and if I can consume that, I can consume not just the Marvel reality but I can consume everything.' "
Galactus doesn't sound very nice, does he?
