First-person horror game Outlast is coming to PS4

Could be next gen's Condemned: Criminal Oranges.

Outlast, the first-person horror game by ex-Naughty Dog and Ubisoft Montreal creative directors at Red Barrels, has been announced for PlayStation 4.

Previously, it was only set for PC.

The game follows the exploits of a reporter named Miles Upshar who decides to investigate rumours about experiments in a recently re-opened insane asylum. Unsurprisingly, they're all true and Miles must get to the bottom of things or die trying.

I had a go at Outlast at PAX East where I found it properly spooky. It felt very similar to Amnesia - with its emphasis on crawling around in the dark and having to run from enemies - but this is by no means a bad thing. According to Red Barrels' co-founder David Chateauneuf, the final game will have much greater enemy variety than Frictional's classic, with more unpredictable behaviour.
