Batman has landed in Fortnite and Tilted Town has been transformed into Gotham City

Build-a-rang.

Batman is now in Fortnite.

The crossover lasts until 6th October in celebration of Batman's 80th anniversary, Fortnite developer Epic said in a blog post.

As part of the crossover, Tilted Town has been transformed into Gotham City (the Final Storm circles will not occur here in core and Arena modes, Epic stressed).

What is cool is the event gives you your own Batman cape and the power of unlimited Glider Redeploy, so you can actually play unafraid of heights. Also cool is the Batman Grapnel Gun. Here's how it works: when the grappling hook from the Batman Grapnel Gun impacts something in the environment, the owner will be launched in a flat arc towards the point of impact. Then, at the apex of the launch, the player will deploy the Bat Cape, which can be used like any other Glider to traverse great distances.

Also of note is the new Explosive Batarang. This consumable is thrown out in a relatively flat arc and homes in towards opponents. The projectile explodes when in close proximity to an opponent. (If the Explosive Batarang impacts the environment, it will stick to the spot where it lands. At that point, it behaves as a proximity mine, exploding when opponents come too close to it.)

As you'd expect, the Batman suit is a cosmetic, which comes as part of the Batman Caped Crusader Pack. This also includes the Batman Comic Book Outfit and The Dark Knight Movie Outfit. The Shop also has an outfit for Catwoman.

The Batman-flavoured challenges are available until 1st October. Completing them gets you free rewards from the Welcome to Gotham City Challenge Bundle, which includes the Catwing Glider.
