Xbox 360 sales double in Europe
Price cut worked wonders, says MS.Microsoft has revealed that Xbox 360 sales have doubled in Europe since it cut the price of the console on 14th March. Well done self, it said.
The platform holder reckons its console is number one in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, as it owns 42 per cent of the market in terms of life-to-date sales.
unWe don't understand that, but we do consider its attach rate of seven games per console to be really quite high; the PS3 only manages 3.8, and the Wii just 3.5.
"Xbox 360 is truly the next-generation console of choice among consumers, and today's numbers are proof that we are delivering on our commitment to achieve critical mass in Europe," said Chris Lewis, Xbox business boss in Europe.
Microsoft slashed the price of all three Xbox 360 consoles on 14th March, shaving GBP 50 off its Premium unit and GBP 40 off the Elite and Arcade machines.
