Mechner making new Prince of Persia?
Evidence of Forgotten Sands mounts.Ubisoft appears to be busy developing a brand new Prince of Persia game.
The evidence starts with a trademark filed by series creator Jordan Mechner, claiming the name Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (via superannuation).
This was backed up today by the CV of Marc-Antoine Senecal, a character modeller at Ubisoft, who claims to have been "working on the new Prince of Persia" from "August 2009 - Present (3 months)" (also via superannuation).
Ubisoft has not responded our request for comment.
That Ubisoft Montreal is working on Prince of Persia will shock nobody. After all, the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time film - starring a buff Jake Gyllenhaal - will be released next May, and Ubisoft embarked on a fresh new direction for the franchise last autumn, after tailing the former trilogy neatly off.
Head over to our Prince of Persia review to see how it fared.
