Team 17 making more Alien Breed

Top-down shooter remake for 2009.

Team 17 has revealed plans to remake old run and gun series Alien Breed.

The Worms developer is aiming for a 2009 release, according to Videogaming247, but is keeping all other details under lock and key.

Alien Breed popped out alongside shell suits and rollerblades in the early nineties, and is remembered fondly by Amiga fans for its top-down co-op alien-blasting action.

It's the sort of game that would translate well to PSN or Xbox Live Arcade, we reckon. Safer than going up against full-priced affairs such as the Aliens FPS from SEGA and Gearbox, too.

Nice to see something other than Worms, though.
