Sonic Lost World channels Super Mario Galaxy and I'm not complaining

Gravity rush.

Sega and Nintendo's recently announced collaboration Sonic Lost World has shown off its first gameplay in its debut trailer below.

Exclusive to IGN, this first look at Sonic's upcoming adventure bears more than a passing resemblance to the Super Mario Galaxy series - with its stages comprised of rotating spheres, cylinders, and side-on platforming - but given that those are two of the most highly acclaimed 3D platformers out there, that's not exactly a bad thing.

It doesn't look like a complete clone, however, as Sonic's speedy moveset is different enough to grant it its own uniquely Sega flavour. Plus, we get a look at Sonic's six new adversaries. How much do you want to bet that Doctor Robotnik is behind them?
