How to download Ash Hat Pikachus in Pokémon Sword and Shield explained

The Ash Hat Pikachus can only be downloaded via codes inputted into the Mystery Gift function for Pokémon Sword and Shield; these codes are being distributed during the weeks before the release of The Crown Tundra DLC.

Once every code has been released, you'll have until Monday 30th November to download each Ash Hat Pikachu and complete your collection.

It's only possible to download each individual Ash Hat Pikachu once onto a single save file for Pokémon Sword or Shield. This means that, if you decide to start a new game, you must ensure that you've traded your Ash Hat Pikachu or stored them in Pokémon Home to avoid loosing them.

Before you attempt to download an Ash Hat Pikachu though, always ensure that your Nintendo Switch is connected to the Internet or you won't be getting any Pikachus at all.

Below we've outlined the steps you need to complete to receive each individual Ash Hat Pikachu:

  1. Turn on Pokémon Sword or Shield.
  2. Begin playing the game and open the X menu.
  3. From the X menu, select the option 'Mystery Gift.'
  4. Now, select the option for 'Get a Mystery Gift' from the new menu.
  5. Next, pick the option for 'Get with Code / Password' to be connected to the Internet.
  6. Enter the code for the Ash Hat Pikachu.
Use Mystery Gift to download your Ash Hat Pikachus!

Always make sure you save your game after downloading the Ash Hat Pikachu!

Once the download is complete, you should be able to find the Ash Hat Pikachu in your Storage Boxes.

Good luck collecting every Ash Hat Pikachu!
