Nintendo dusts off Mario Kart DS' Luigi's Mansion course for Mario Kart Tour's next spooky event

Peek-a-Boo.

A new spoooooky Halloween event is coming to Mario Kart Tour that just-so-happens to coincide with the release of Luigi's Mansion 3 at the end of the month, too.

Kicking off at 7am UK time on 23rd October (or 11pm PT on 22nd October 2019, depending on which side of the world you are), the Halloween-flavoured content will be live for two weeks and includes a guest spot from King Boo himself and the resurrection of the fabulous Luigi's Mansion's course from Mario Kart DS.

"In the dead of night, the roar of engines breaks the eerie silence...and the race is on!" Nintendo teased in a recent tweet. "In the next tour, the Luigi's Mansion course from the Mario Kart DS game rises from its grave! Haunted houses aren't so scary when you race right through them!"

Nintendo's latest Mario Kart Tour update, available now, has rotated in a fresh set of tracks, characters and kart parts to unlock via the smartphone game's gacha-style system. As Tom reported, the price of these packs - ranging from £20 to £39 - were largely justified by the lumps of in-game currency they include. The characters bundled with them are just there to give the pack a family-friendly face, and a character players will likely want.

Tom also says Luigi's third spooky adventure is looking very promising indeed after he went hands-on with Luigi's Mansion 3 at E3 this year.
