Valve's Source Engine licensed for MMORPG

Twilight War: After The Fall to use Half-Life 2 tech.

Smiling Gator Productions has licensed the Source Engine for use in its forthcoming MMORPG Twilight War: After The Fall, Half-Life 2 developer and Source creators Valve Software announced overnight.

Twilight War, which is already in development, joins Troika Games' Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines and Arkane Studios' unnamed Source-based project on the growing list of Source licensees.

"The Source engine is one of the gaming world's premier technologies, we are thrilled about the features it will bring to Twilight War: After the Fall," says Kingsley Montgomery, Vice President of Development at Smiling Gator Productions.

"Its combat system, physics, and advanced AI are exactly what we were looking for to enable the exciting features we are developing for our game. We evaluated several game engines and concluded that Valve's was the only choice for us. In addition to being a top-notch product, their support has been excellent."

Twilight War, which you can read plenty more about on the game's official website, is due for completion in 2006.
