PES6 for next-gen platforms

Seabass 11-a-side multiplayer.

Winning Eleven / Pro Evolution Soccer producer Shingo "Seabass" Takatsuka has confirmed that an Xbox 360 instalment of the football series will be released in late 2006 - echoing comments made in a Konami interview last October when he said PES6 would appear on next-generation consoles. All seems to be going to plan on that front.

Speaking in Famitsu this week, the veteran Konami developer also said he wants to move toward full 11 versus 11 online play, although he's not sure if that can be done just yet. That, again, echoes sentiments made in a widely publicised Konami website interview that aired last year. As the time, Seabass said he expected next-gen versions to include much more motion capture and AI data.

In the meantime, Pro Evolution Soccer 5 is due out on October 21st on PS2 and Xbox, with the PC version apparently on its way a week later on the 28th. The PlayStation Portable version, derived from the recently released Japanese Winning Eleven 9: Ubiquitous Evolution, is expected to arrive in Europe in mid-to-late November.
