LA Noire outfits: How to unlock all new suits, including the new suits and Novels reward in the Remastered edition

Unlock every outfit, including the four new Remastered suits.

LA Noire outfits allow you to explore 1940s Los Angeles in a variety of threads, some of which give you bonus perks.

If you're interested in help elsewhere, our LA Noire guide and walkthrough is well worth a visit.

LA Noire outfits explained

As you level up and move through the ranks as you complete cases, you'll be granted access to a variety of new outfits.

As well as progressing through the main cases and side-quests, there are a couple more that can be unlocked by completing certain challenges. Some of these just look spiffy, but some also come with special bonuses.

You can change outfits at any time by going into the pause menu.

With the arrival of the Remastered edition on PS4, Xbox One and Switch, four new outfits have been added to the game, each with their own abilities.

LA Noire outfits list

Here is how to unlock the base set of outfits, found in both the original and Remastered editions:

Golden Boy, The Broderick, and Sharpshooter: Unlocked when you join the Traffic desk. Sharpshooter increases rifle and pistol accuracy, and The Broderick increases your melee fighting damage and health.

Button Man: Locate all 20 badges in the Shield Pursuit Challenge to unlock this suit that provides extra ammo for all weapons.

Chicago Lightning: Awarded for using Rockstar Social Club (Rockstar's online service) and increases your accuracy with the shotgun, and BAR and Thompson rifles.

The following outfits are unlocked by increasing your rank by completing cases:

Sword of Justice: Unlocked when you reach Rank 5.
Sunset Strip: Unlocked at Rank 8.
The Outsider: Unlocked at Rank 13.
Hawkshaw: Unlocked at Rank 18.

How to unlock the four new outfits added in LA Noire's Remastered edition

As well as the above, the Switch, PS4 and Xbox One version adds four new outfits after you complete certain requirements.

Hardboiled Detective: Collect all Novel collectables. There are eight in total, as shown by Gtamen in the following YouTube video:

Wearing the suit removes one wrong answer during interrogations. Our full LA Noire walkthrough has the full list of what to say during each interview, however, if you don't feel the need to unlock this.

The Incognio: Complete the Vice desk without being caught when tailing a suspect. The perk with this outfit makes it harder to get caught in future tails.

The Murphy: Complete the Army obstacle course in under three minutes to get this, and when wearing it, you no longer have to reload handguns or shotguns - very useful during a firefight.

The Untouchable: Dodge 20 punches (we assume in a row) without getting hit. Wearing it stops you from taking damage during future fist fights.

Thanks to the LA Noire subreddit for the pointers on how to unlock the above outfits.
