International FFXIII out before April?

Square Enix boss Wada sounds hopeful.

Kotaku reports that Square Enix has said Final Fantasy XIII could be released in the West before April 2010.

The word comes from the publisher's recent financial briefing. Square Enix president Yoichi Wada said "progress is good" on the international version of the game - which, of course, needs not only to be localised, but ported from PS3 to Xbox 360.

Wada said that it is currently possible to get the game out this financial year - which ends at the start of April 2010. Square Enix has previously promised a simultaneous release on the two formats, with the European launch "as close to the North American release as possible".

The game's out in Japan on PS3 only on 17th December.
