Infogrames to acquire Atari

For USD 11m. Confused?

Infogrames has agreed to acquire Atari for USD 11 million, even though everyone thought they were the same company anyway.

In fact Infogrames is currently Atari's largest stockholder. From now on it will wholly own the company.

Infogrames has also committed to lending Atari USD 20 million to fun "operational cash requirements" until the merger is a done deal.

The news comes after Infogrames revealed it had made an offer to acquire SCi, but SCi said sorry things are just a bit hectic right now we're not ready for a new relationship.

The merger is expected to complete in the autumn.
