Bethesda has broken silence and confirmed an upcoming patch for all three versions of Fallout 3.

Community manager "Gstaff" gave word on the Bethesda forum, but said nothing about when the update will arrive or what will be in it.

Unfortunately, all three versions of Fallout 3 seem to be suffering from bugs, and the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 forums are stuffed with examples of them.

Bethesda spokesperson Pete Hines told us at the beginning of the month that Trophy support for the PS3 version of Fallout 3 was planned, and that the developer was looking into the PC problems.

These bugs are unlikely to go unchecked, of course, but it's nice to know something is definitely being done - because Fallout 3 is brilliant when it does work.

Head over to our Fallout 3 gamepage for platform comparisons, our review, and our live interview with Pete Hines.
