EA teases Medal of Honor revamp

We'll hear more "in the months ahead".

EA has once again teased the rejuvenation of the Medal of Honor series following its latest round of financial results.

"In the months ahead, you'll hear more about our plans to revitalise core IP, including the Medal of Honor franchise," EA Games label boss Frank Gibeau said during a conference call (thanks Joystiq).

That comes just months after big boss John Riccitiello said that the next Medal of Honor was "somewhere out there" but he was "not yet in a position to discuss specific plans" and would "do so in due course".

Despite arguably setting World War II FPS events in motion when it published Medal of Honor: Allied Assault back in the day, EA's series has been on a break recently and has lost ground to its rival, Activision's Call of Duty.

The last big multiplatform Medal of Honor title was MOH: Airborne, which we rather liked. The series' most recent outing was MOH: Heroes 2 on Wii.
