Batman: Arkham Origins launches with half the sales of Arkham City

But around the same as Arkham Asylum.

Batman Arkham Origins has topped the UK all-format charts, albeit with half the launch week sales of Rocksteady's Batman Arkham City.

WB Games Montreal's Arkham prequel sold around same amount as 2009's Arkham Asylum, UK numbers company Chart-Track reported.

The all-time best-selling Batman game in the UK remains Lego Batman: The Videogame.

Grand Theft Auto 5 was second this week, ahead of FIFA 14 in third and Skylanders Swap Force in fourth. Pokémon X and Pokémon Y occupied the fifth and sixth slots, while Minecraft was seventh.

The recently-discounted Lego Lord of the Rings, the latest Moshi Monsters game and Just Dance 2014 made up the rest of the top 10.
