Batman: Arkham Knight PC will stay broken until this autumn - report

Australian retailer told to return all stock.

Batman: Arkham Knight's broken PC port will take months to fix, a new report states.

That's according to a leaked email from Batman publisher Warner Bros. to Australian retailer EB Games, which was passed on to Kotaku Australia.

The message from Warner instructs EB Games to return all PC copies of Arkham Knight as the title is still far from being fixed.

Warner is not able to say in the email when the game will be ready, but notes that it won't be until the Australian spring - that's September to November.

"As previously advised we have stopped sales of Batman: Arkham Knight PC while Warner and Rocksteady work on addressing performance issues with the game.

"The latest information from Warner is that the updates won't be available until Spring. Due to this we have made the difficult decision to recall all PC stock from stores to return to the vendor until an acceptable solution is released."

Warner Bros. UK arm declined to comment on the email when approached by Eurogamer this afternoon.

But the publisher previously warned players that its fixes to Arkham Knight on PC were "significant" and would "take some time".

Specifically, the Warner has Arkham Knight developer Rocksteady and PC port studio Iron Galaxy working on improving the game's frame-rate, resolution problems plus the amount of system memory, VRAM and hard drive streaming it requires.

Digital Foundry's damning appraisal of Arkham Knight's PC port concluded that it "should never have been released in this sorry state".

"There's a massive amount of work required to get this version of the game into shape - as things stand, the experience is totally unacceptable."
