Yesterday saw the big reveal for Assassin's Creed Valhalla - the latest in Ubisoft's time-hopping stealthy stab-em-up adventures. Saying that, the series has pivoted away from sneakiness somewhat over the last few entries as it embraces more action and RPG elements. The bombastic debut trailer for Assassin's Creed Valhalla suggests that's going to continue. If that's got you hooked already, well here's where you can put down for an Assassin's Creed Valhalla pre-order - especially if you want the elusive Collector's Edition.

In traditional Ubisoft style, there are going to be a number of different editions. Each one gives you a few more extras if you hand over more cash. Luckily, there's a handy table that breaks it down as straightforward as possible. Warrior and Viking clan leader Eivor is this iteration's Templar botherer, with Ubisoft once again allowing you to choose to play as either a male or female version of the protagonist. Whichever you choose, you'll be bounding around a 9th century England after your clan leaves Norway for a new life. That'll put you in a contest with the Saxons and the likes of Alfred the Great, who appears in the debut trailer. You can read even more in our early Assassin's Creed Valhalla interview.

There are a couple of useful things to note before we continue, as well. First up, every Assassin's Creed Valhalla pre-order will get The Way of the Berserker bonus mission. Secondly, if you buy the game once on Xbox One and you'll be able to take advantage of Microsoft's 'Smart Delivery' scheme and play it on Xbox Series X too. Nice!

Assassin's Creed Valhalla Collector's Edition

The Assassin's Creed Valhalla Collector's Edition is Ubisoft Store exclusive. It's also the most expensive but comes with a whole boat-load of stuff. This includes a copy of the game, the season pass, the Ultimate Pack (containing unique weapons, armour, items, cosmetics and more), a 30cm statue of Eivor and her Drakkar, a collector's case with unique artwork, the Ubisoft Store exclusive steelbook, a 5cm Viking Statuette of Eivor with his raven and Dane axe, a premium Certificate of Authenticity, a set of three concept art lithographs and a selected soundtrack CD. Assassin's Creed Valhalla Ultimate Edition

The Assassin's Creed Valhalla UItimate Edition comes with a copy of the game, the season pass and the Ultimate Pack. This is a set of items that includes unique weapons, armour, items, cosmetics and more. Physical copies of the Ultimate Edition are a Game exclusive in the UK and a GameStop exclusive in the US.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla - Gold Edition

Onto the Assassin's Creed Valhalla - Gold Edition. This isn't too complicated, as it simply includes a copy of the game and the season pass. Exactly what DLC you can expect is yet to be announced, but Ubisoft has said it will feature new content, new lands and new gear. The season pass will also grant access to new story mission from launch.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla

Here's your basic copy of Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Having said that, a few retailers are offering slightly different editions with a handful of unique extras. These are mostly digital cosmetic goodies, though, so nothing that will drastically change the game. Just a few bits and pieces if you want to jazz up your longboat or adorn Eivor in some fancy clothing.
