Devil Inside : The Movie?

Yet another computer game movie in the works

French game designer Hubert Chardot confirmed that he is currently working on the script for a movie based on last year's survival horror flop Devil Inside. Although the game was certainly innovative, it was perhaps a little too off-the-wall for many - its male hero could change into the demoness Deva at intervals throughout the game to send souls back to hell, while a cameraman trailed you around filming your exploits for the eponymous TV show The Devil Inside, with your score depending as much on provoking a good reaction from the studio audience as it did on simply blasting zombies back into the after-life.

The game was never released in America, publisher Cryo have no plans to make a sequel, and even Hubert Chardot himself admits that "a lot of things were not at the finished stages because we had to meet the release date". Still, the basic idea behind the game was certainly an interesting one, and we could see it working better in the context of a movie than it did as a game. Chardot confirmed that "we're in negotiations with a French film producer", although further details are currently scarce. In the meantime his company is hard at work on a new PC game based on cult horror movie From Dusk 'Til Dawn.
