Splinter Cell Conviction before Christmas
And Ghost Recon 4 before April 2010.
Yves Guillemot, king of Ubisoft, has said that the long-awaited Splinter Cell Conviction will be released before Christmas, and that Ghost Recon 4 will be released within the company's current financial year.
Addressing the company's latest round of financials, Gullemot said: "The results of these efforts will be seen as early as this Christmas with one of the industry's most ambitious games line-ups which will include Assassin's Creed 2, James Cameron's Avatar, Splinter Cell Conviction, Rabbids Go Home and Red Steel 2."
Conviction was originally showcased at UbiDays in 2007, but Ubisoft's ambitious reworking of the famed stealth series has taken a bit longer to realise. The last we heard of it was last July when Guillemot said it would be out in this financial year, which ends on 31st March 2010.
That's also the timeframe within which a new Ghost Recon game - simply referred to as "Ghost Recon 4" in Ubi's financials - will be released, although there are no further details on it, so we'll make some up: it's set on a pirate ship!
Ubi's financial report also reminds us to expect Assassin's Creed 2, Rabbids Go Home, Red Steel 2 (of which more elsewhere), Anno 1404, James Cameron's Avatar, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, RUSE, I Am Alive and a new Wii sports game by the end of March 2010.
